Dr. Robert Colyer Jr. joined the Carithers Pediatric Group in 1977. He was born in Jacksonville and after attending local schools graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his Medical Degree from Emory University, then completed his pediatric residency at Vanderbilt University before returning home to practice.
Board-certified in pediatrics since 1979, Dr. Colyer is a member of various organizations. He is actively involved as a pediatric leader in the community and was past president of the Florida Pediatric Society, the Youth Crisis Center, and the Ronald McDonald House, and was past chief of staff of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville and currently is president of that service organization. Dr. Colyer enjoys all aspects of general pediatrics, but has a special interest in sports medicine and injury management.
Dr. Colyer lives with his wife, Donna, in the Venetia neighborhood of Jacksonville, and is extremely proud of his two married grown children, Catherine and Ryan Tiedeberg, and Charlie and Emily Colyer. His collegiate stepson Brent, reminds him daily of the challenges and rewards of adolescent medicine. Dr. "Bob" loves to fish, hunt, play golf, snow ski and relax at the beach with his family and friends. |
